  • Getting Started-WHAT IS SECTION 125 CAFETERIA PLAN?

    Section 125 Cafeteria Plans have been approved by Congress since the 1970’s. It allows you as an employer to offer to your employees a program in which their contributions to any health insurance,unreimbursed medical expenses, child-care costs, and other covered expenses are actually subtracted from their gross pay before California and federal income taxes, SDI, and FICA are deducted. This allows you as an employer to save money on these payroll related costs (FICA, FUTA, Workers’ Comp) and gives the employee more take home pay each month.
